Bea's Bettas - Yellow Koi 1

Iris - Male Yellow/Blue Tiger

Iris is a beautiful and vigorous betta. He is housed with a large shrimp colony and is the best protector of the shrimp I could ask for. He was very gentle with Wildflower during spawning, and never damaged her fins. His spawn is just as social and happy to see people as he is, and are shaping out to be just as beautiful.

Wildflower - Female Yellow/Blue Fancy

Wildflower lives with a small colony of dark cull shrimp and enjoys hunting down and murdering the young. She is fierce, beautiful, and also perfect in every way. During breeding she was helpful and would assist Iris in picking up eggs and placing them in the nest.

Goals of the Spawn

My goal with breeding them was to create gorgeous teal and yellow plakats with good form. I didn't really have any other goals beyond that though I was expecting them to look like either parent.

The Spawn

Hatched : 3-17-2021

Amount : 19 fry - 7 males - 12 females

Deformities : A few of the males only flare with half of a beard but seem otherwise unaffected

Colors : 3 Blue Mustard Gas, 4 cellophane with some spots, 1 blue marble, 11 yellow koi

Goals : I would say my goals with this spawn were mostly met. I wasn't expecting the other color variations that happened, but I really love what came out! When it comes to their form, some of them had a bit of a blocky top line which I am not a fan of, while others were absolutely stunning. (Sapphire)

Continue : I continued this line with Waterlily twice - Yellow Koi 2a and Yellow Koi 2b.
