I love taking photos of my fish! Here are some of my favoirtes <3
Two lights - a top down and point light from the side. Lots of light is needed for cameras to be able to have faster shutter speeds.
Light Blockers - These are needed to prevent your hands or camera from showing up in the reflection. I use cut up school folders taped. I block light from the top light and point light.
Turn off the Room Lights - This again prevents reflections
A Camera you can Lock Focus - I use a phone camera that allows me to lock focus at a certain depth. Having a newer phone that is fast helps.
Using Food or Mirrors - Use food or mirrors to engage your bettas into moving or staying still.
Patience - I take hundreds of photos for ever few that turn out nicely. It can take me hours to wait for the perfect shot.
